I regret that I have but one to give.
We talk about how this government is disgraceful and wrong and evil, and how the great men who built this nation would be ashamed of it.
Then damnit, don't disgrace their memories!
They all knew they would die if they failed, and many of them knew they would die in course of building this nation.
They didn't fear.
We talk about the sacrifices our ancestors made, as they died in the cause of preserving this nation's freedom when we were attacked.
Then damnit, don't disgrace their memories!
They gave their lives willingly to keep our freedom alive.
They didn't fear.
Many, many people gave their lives to build and preserve this great nation.
If my life is called for to do the same, I can do no less.
I cannot face them in the world after this and say I did not because I was afraid.
I will do what I must.
I will speak my mind.
I will never fear.
I will live free or die.

I am a Democrat, out of sorts with the national party, all mouth and no action. I am a conservative, mostly, because my party has made being a liberal witless. Reading your blog, I wonder if anger at GWB is distorting your opinions. We made a mistake going into Iraq, but we're there now. I tremble to think what the next 20 years will bring, if we don't at least tie. The rules have changed. If you would bring down Bush, try reason, calm and rational. If you would inspire his followers to keep the faith, then curse on.
Pay attention, today, Bush is now legally allowed to declare ANYONE who he feels is "aiding the enemy" an "enemy combatant". This, according to law, now applies to anyone he feels it does, so a Sentator who votes against him, can now be locked up, FOREVER, with no charges, etc. I've spoken out, often, and forcefully against him, and now, I too can be declared an "enemy combatant" and locked up forever, you can too.
The days of "business as usual" are OVER.
Alberto Gonzales just threatened every judge in America that their personal views must never disagree with Bush's.
The America we knew is GONE.
When they come for me, they'll find that I remember it, and I remember how to fight for it.
And if need be, DIE for it.
You're just another person that would rather be watching American Idol than worrying about the fact that our freedoms have just VANISHED.
Get your head out of the sand.
And arm yourself.
The Second Amendment still holds, and it'll at least give me a good fight against these facist bastards.
Don't forget to also make a stand with your vote. If you regularly throw the incumbents out, opting for fresh blood in all levels of government, we would be much better.
